The Alliance to end Homelessness in Suburban Cook County, more commonly known as AHAND, is an alliance of housing professionals and agencies whose collective focus is to end homelessness in suburban Cook County, Illinois. One of their most recent efforts, has been to develop a Coordinated Entry Program known as the Cook County Continuum of Care, to make it easier for those in need of housing assistance be more effectively assessed and evaluated through a streamlined process to get these clients connected to the housing assistance they qualify for. The Alliance brings in approximately $9 million per year from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to support over forty homeless programs in the region. As one of their members, Connections of Illinois has been a part of their efforts and can assist clients in getting connected with some of the tools designed to provide the housing assistance you may need.
